Mr. Poling's signature sound has had many commercial manifestations: classical strings composed for Mercedes Benz, punchy pop for Barbie, a lush tango for Best Buy, and many more. The New Standards' versions of "Toxic" and "Watching The Detectives" were used for stunning set pieces in Macy's Glamorama. The Suburbs "Rattle My Bones" was the soundtrack for an award-winning spot for Target. The inspiring song "Love Is The Law", was effectively used in television, web and social media in galvanizing the push towards Marriage Equality in 2013 - and also used in a classic "Roseanne" episode and in 2016 for the spooky TV show “Dead of Summer”. "Music For Boys" was heard for many years on the soap-opera "All of My Children". ETC.
With a dozen albums of songs and source material ranging from the punky Suburbs to the elegant scores for theater like “Children of Paradise” and "Glensheen", to the evocative jazz vibes of The New Standards, there is a wealth of soundtrack material to choose from. NOTE: Now that Chan is teamed with the prolific Hollywood (“Pirates of the Caribbean” the "Furious" movie, etc) and Broadway (Tony nom for “The Lion King”) orchestral arranger, Robert Elhai, please feel more than confident commissioning Mr. Poling for your feature film. To license Chan's music for commercials please contact Mara Schwartz at Superior Music Publishing in Los Angeles.
